  1. If this isn't misogynism, I don't know what misogynism is :)

  2. Even if the man doesn't look too happy, he seems to have a look of wanton satisfaction on his face: "though she hasn't given me a blowjob ... she's at least holding it in her hand ... better than nothing ... her grip is quite pleasurable in fact ... O! Plus! Perge! Aio! Hui! Hem!" :)

  3. Thanks, Peri! - I am very glad that you offered that view on the picture.
Strangely enough, if this were a depiction of a man carrying a woman by hair (as was Aborigines' practice not so long ago) - it would be clearly called misogynistic.
Now, according to Peri, the picture of a woman carrying a man by the balls is also misogynistic... I think we have a paradox on our hands :) Peri?

  4. " ... if this were a depiction of a man carrying a woman by hair (as was Aborigines' practice not so long ago) - it would be clearly called misogynistic." I don't agree, Valerij. Especially if the picture carried a caption "if men ruled the world". Then we would have a case of misandry (hatred of males). It's not so much the picture that I mind as the message this joke carries about women - castrating females (here's another nice message about women) who treat men instrumentally and exploit them for their own devices. Of, course I realize this was a provocation on your part and I hope it was nothing more than that :) By the way, have you noticed how rarely the word "misandry" is used. It's practically unknown outside literary criticism :)

  5. Well, the story of the Aborigines' sexual practices is invariably used to show the patriarchic world, so I still stand with my point that this picture is a good lithmus test for misogyny, true or imagined. What I think is happening here, is that the belief that if women ruled it would be not be the same world with the same filthy habits but with women as perpetrators. We have almost no empirical evidence for that in human world (Amazons et al. is a very weak statistical sample). But in the animal world, the patterns are clear. Gender is irrelevant when it comes to violence.
btw, my name even in my passport is Valera :)

  6. Sorry about the name, Valera! I hate it when somebody misspels mine :) I see your point. Still, there is so much less violence in females, don't you agree?

  7. from what I understand, violence levels are the same across gender in the animal/insect world. The whole nurturing image of benevolent mother is a fantasy. Sawreee :(
