things about this world that seem to matter... Life is too absurd to take it seriously. Laugh and be laughed at - that's my motto. то, что меня привлекает в этом мире... Жизнь слишком абсурдна, чтобы её воспринимать всерьёз... Смейся над всем и пусть смеются над тобой - вот мой девиз! Valera Meylis, aka Валерий Мамедалиев
An interesting review of what looks like an interesting book. Gives us a glimpse of the mechanisms that stand behind American politics. Obviously, clans are characteristic not only of the USA - take Cuba, Hussein's Iraq, all the monarchies etc., but what is disturbing here is that America's political system is, in fact, unable to safeguard its "model" democracy against nepotism. So much power in the hands of so few. I can recommend a broader analysis of similar issues by George Lakoff "Moral Politics" (btw he is a cognitive linguist advising Obama in the present election)
